The MQM chief today appeared before the London Metropolitan Police regarding the investigation of money laundering charges against him.
Police after five hours of questioning extended his bail until July on same terms and conditions.
Upon his return to party’s international secretariat, Altaf Hussain said that it was the reward of prayers offered by his millions of followers that he is back.
He said that several cases were put up against him in the past, yet none of the charges were ever proven.
“They took me along today and I returned, they can again take me but I will again be back among my people,” said the MQM chief on a lighter note during a press talks at party’s headquarters following his bail extension.
He categorically denied all the charges leveled against him and said that efforts were made to frame him in fake cases.
“The way you see me back in my seat and talking to you, the same way NA-246’s vacated seat will also come to MQM’s fold,” he told his followers through live media talk.
When asked by a journo about the questioning by London Police, he declined to comment much for the investigations of the case are underway.
