Amitabh to Manyata Dutt among 714 Indians named in Paradise Papers

Just a year after the explosive Panama Papers, a new cache of 13.4 million documents likely to expose some more names of the wealthiest and influential people around the world stashing their wealth abroad to evade taxes.

In the latest leak, it has been learnt that various celebrities across the world have been involved in hiding the wealth to evade taxes.

Manyata Dutt – spouse of Indian actor Sanjay Dutt – a corporate lobbyist by profession is also among the names appeared in the Paradise papers, besides Amitabh Bachan.

Bachan is back in the news again for his name featured in the second largest leak after Panama papers.

Bachan family is under probe by the Mumbai team of Enforcement Directorate, along with Amitabh’s daughter-in-law Aishwarya.

On the flipside, the Hollywood stars have been in the news for owning shares in several offshore companies.

U2 band members and its singer Bano have been found to own shares in a company registered in Malta that invested in shopping center in Lithuania.

Pop star Madonna is also among these celebrities owning shares in a medical supplies company, ICIJ reported.

The documents — obtained by a German newspaper from two companies in Singapore and Bermuda — have made public the data of over 25,000 companies owned by individuals from 180 countries, from 1950 to 2016.

Around 381 investigative journalists from 67 countries worked extensively to bring these facts before the people.

Previously, names of various celebrities including Jackie Chan, Emma Watson, Stanley Kubrick, and others were appeared in the Panama papers in 2016.
