ISLAMABAD: After Naz Baloch parting ways with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf while denouncing it as male chauvinistic party, another female leader Ayesha Gulalai announced on Tuesday to bid adieu to the party, ARY News reported.

Disenchanted with the leadership and environment of the party, Ayesha Gulalai said there was no respect for women workers in Imran Khan led party.

Gulalai quit the party over refusal of election ticket: PTI

Earlier on July 16, Naz Baloch in Karachi had announced to part ways with the PTI and joined Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). She said she was disappointed with male chauvinism in the party. “I feel male chauvinism in the party. Mostly men are given ear when it comes to decision-making in the party,” Baloch complained while announcing her decision to quit the PTI.

Scathing attack on PTI

Recently talking exclusively to ARY News anchor Maria Memon, Naz Baloch, who left PTI to join PPP, maintained that in recent intra-party elections, all appointed members were men.

“Those who came from other parties within PTI are today asking who is Naz Baloch and that I was an ordinary worker. I like being called a worker but they have forgotten how to respect a worker. We have participated in the PTI sit-in for 150 days, do we need to tell these people, who we are?,” said Naz Baloch.

Brushing aside the criticism of being an “opportunist”, she claimed that she was getting the election ticket from PTI on a silver platter as she was on of the few prominent faces in Karachi.

“But how can I contest elections when there is no party structure (in Karachi) and the workers are angry,” said Naz Baloch.

She further claimed that she has nothing against Imran Khan but the PTI she joined was the PTI of Imran Khan, where he used to take all decisions and his ideology wasn’t compromised.

“Now there are ideological changes, people who are turncoats, who enjoyed ministries in other parties are joining PTI,” said Naz Baloch.

PTI, led by cricketer-turned politician Imran Khan, remained in forefront to oppose Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government in Pakistan and fought a successful legal battle against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in Panama Papers case, which resulted in downfall of Sharif under corruption charges.
