Anushka’s ‘Pari’ banned in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Screening of Anushka Sharma-starrer ‘Pari-Not a Fairytale’ has been banned in Pakistan for “innumerable unethical dialogues and scenes”.

Pari is an Indian supernatural horror film made by a new movie director Prosit Roy. The flick is third production venture for Anushka’s company Clean Slate Films. The film was released on March 2.

Chairman Central Board of Film Censors (CBFC) Pakistan Mobashir Hasan announced through his social media account that Pari was declared unfit for public exhibition by the CBFC Pakistan for violation of rules and codes of the censor board.

“Imported film #Pari has been declared ‘Unfit’ for public exhibition by a panel followed by #CBFC’s Full Board review as it flouts various sections of the existing rules and code of #CBFC. Innumerable dialogues & scenes r against the established religious, social and moral ethos,” he said.
