Arabian Sea Cyclone Tej crosses Yemen coast and weakens

KARACHI: Arabian Sea Cyclonic storm ‘Tej’ crossed Al Ghaydah coast of Yemen 1550km southwest of Gwadar, citing PMD, ARY News reported on Tuesday.

The Very Severe Cyclonic Storm over West-central Arabian Sea crossed the Yemen coast south of Al Ghaydah early morning, weakened into a Cyclonic Storm and now located over eastern Yemen near Lat. 16.2 °N & 51.5 °E, Pakistan Meteorological Department said.

The system is likely to track further west-northwestward and weaken gradually into a Depression later today.

The weather system have no impact on any of Pakistan coastal area, according to a Met Office.

Meanwhile, another Cyclonic Storm ‘Hamoon’ has now intensified into a severe cyclonic storm over the Northwest Bay of Bengal. As per the weather information, Cyclonic Storm ‘Hamoon’ over Northwest and adjoining West central Bay of Bengal moved northeastwards with a speed of 18 km per hour during the past 6 hours.
