Army chief postpones Sri Lanka visit following Karachi bus massacre, rushes to Karachi

The decision of the army chief was announced via Twitter by DG ISPR Gen. Asim Bajwa.

 


The army chief’s decision comes following a deadly terrorist attack in Karachi on a bus which left 43 people dead and 13 injured, 16 among them women. Six armed assailants on three motorcycles stopped the bus,

boarded it and opened indiscriminate fire on all passengers. The attackers successfully fled the scene before police and rangers arrived at the crime scene. The bus that had been attacked was operated by Al Azhar Garden — a residential complex of Ismailis.
