According to ISPR, the Army Chief visited troops in Thall, Kurram Agency where he was briefed in detail about the security situation and the progress of progress of the ongoing combing operations.
He expressed satisfaction over the progress of combing operations and the security environment, and appreciated the valour and bravery of the troops. He said that gains made by the troops have helped cleanse the area from terrorists and their sympathisers.
The Army Chief emphasised on the need to uproot the sleeper cells and the network of facilitators from the tribal areas and across the rest of the country.
He reviewed new deployments and structures being made to improve border management and directed stringent measures to check all cross border movement indiscriminately, in coordination with Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) and Resolute Support Mission (RSM) in Afghanistan.
