COAS Bajwa rejects India's 'self-defeating' claims of surgical strikes

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff General Qammar Javed Bajwa has rejected claims of ‘so called surgical strikes’ by Indian forces and its recurrence.
“General Qamar Javed Bajwa rejects self-defeating claims by Indian COAS about ‘so called surgical strikes’ and its possible recurrence,” Director General Inter Services Public Relations Major General Asif Ghafoor tweeted.

“Pakistan armed forces are fully geared to respond to any aggression by India,” said COAS General Bajwa.
The new army chief of Indian General Bipin Rawat who took command on Saturday had said that it will not shy away from flexing its muscle, even though the force wanted to maintain peace and tranquility at the border.
Indian forces on September 29 opened unprovoked fire across the Line of Control resulting in the martyrdom of two Pakistan soldiers. The Indian Army claimed to have conducted a ‘surgical strike’ which was denied by Pakistan. Indian people, international community and independent observers are still waiting for the proofs that can support the Indian claim.
