Around 15000 containers stranded at Karachi port

KARACHI: At least 15000 containers are still stranded at both the ports of Karachi, although many days have been passed the goods transporter has ended the strike, ARY News reported.

Sources revealed that even after the end of strike the situation doesn’t turn normal, as the huge amount of import and export containers are laying openly at the Karachi ports.

Many containers are waiting at the port for their departure to Karachi and other destination but due to ineffective working of traffic police and administration the containers are still waiting at the ports.

Meanwhile, good transporters said that administration of the port is not co-operating that causing the difficulties in working process.

The Goods Transport Strikes was ended on November 17 (Sunday) after had a negotiation meeting with Federal Finance Minister, Ishaq Dar at the Governor’s House.

The country faced billion dollars of loss due to the strikes by the goods transporters.
