NA speaker seeks legal relief of Pakistanis imprisoned in Malaysia

ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser on Saturday wrote a letter to his Malaysian counterpart for legal relief of Pakistani expatriates imprisoned in Malaysia.

In his letter to Chairman House of Representatives of Malaysia, Mohammad Arif Yusof, the speaker said that Pakistani diaspora in Malaysia formed the largest Pakistani expatriates’ community in South East Asia.

Referring to the recent visit of Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan to Malaysia, the speaker said that both brotherly countries needed to enhance bilateral cooperation and high level coordination in all spheres.

Asad Qaiser also expressed deep felicitation of forthcoming visit of Prime Minister of Malaysia Dr Mahathir bin Mohammad as Chief Guest on Pakistan Day Parade on March 23.

He hoped the journey of mutual cooperation in the field of education, defence, health and trade will continue.

Dr Mahathir bin Mohammad will grace the Pakistan Day Parade on March 23 as guest of honour, said Director General of military’s media wing Major General Asif Ghafoor on March 13.

From the official Twitter account of DG Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR), Major General Ghafoor had informed that the Malaysian PM would be the guest of honour while other guests include Defence Minister of Azerbaijan, Chief of Army Staff of Bahrain and government officials from Oman.
