Speaker NA meets philanthropists to discuss establishment of welfare village

ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser on Monday held a meeting with members of welfare organizations and philanthropists on establishment of model welfare village, ARY News reported.

“Shelterless people will be provided basic facilities at the model welfare village. I wish that every province has one such village,” Asad Qaiser said during the meeting here at the Parliament House.

He said work of those who were working for the humanity was laudable. They were making their world and hereafter a better place through selfless welfare works, he added.

The speaker National Assembly said providing easiness to shelterless people was a joint responsibility of society. He said resources would be utilized to give special persons an important status.

On March 4, Prime Minister Imran Khan had directed to expedite the development work pace for transforming Islamabad into a model city.

“Islamabad is one of the beautiful cities of the world, the work pace should be accelerated,” the prime minister had said while expressing his views, in a meeting with the elected representatives of Islamabad, who called on him at his office.

In November last year, PM Imran Khan was briefed on various short and mid-term initiatives to transform Islamabad into a model city, the progress towards revision of master plan of the capital and the successes made so far in anti-encroachment drive and campaign against land mafia in the centre.
