According to details, the ceremony took place in Nawabshah, during which the elders of the Zardari clan unanimously picked the former president as their Sardar [tribal chieftain].
People belonging to the Zardari tribe of Sindh and Balochistan provinces also attended the ceremony that took place in Benazirabad.
They tied a large piece of cloth around Asif Ali Zardari’s head as a symbol of installing him to be the elder of the clan. This custom is known as ‘Dastar Bandi’ in the tribal system.
On this occasion, Asif Ali Zardari urged the entire Zardari clan to put aside their individual differences and to get unified.
