ATC pronounces Altaf ‘absconder’ in life threats case

According to details, officials presented challan of a case filed by Pakistan Rangers’ Colonel Tahir, which the court accepted. The challan mentioned Altaf Hussain as the only accused and ‘absconder’.

It further read that the MQM chief in his interview to a private news channel on March 11 had issued life threats to Rangers officials.

The ATC ordered issuance of non-bailable arrest warrants against the MQM chief, which are likely to be issued by August 3.

On the other hand, a Sargodha court ordered registration of a case against Altaf Hussain on charges of revolt against the state.

A citizen named Abdul Waheed had filed a petition against Hussain for his diatribe against the armed forces of Pakistan.

The controversial speech by the MQM chief had drawn public anger with applications filed seeking registration of cases against him with police stations and courts all over the country.

More than a hundred cases have so far been registered against Altaf Hussain.
