District Police Officer (DPO) Attock Israr Ahmed Khan in a press conference said that the accused were involved in attacks on police, secret agencies officials and businessmen. During interrogation they have confessed of their involvement in scores of targeted killings in Attock, the DPO said.
He said that the accused have been members of an outlawed group having links with North Waziristan and Afghanistan.
They have confessed that they had got training from Afghanistan before coming to Attock, the police chief said.
Police conducting raids to arrest other accomplices of the accused, he added.
After a terrorist attack on the Army Public School in Peshawar on December 16, which claimed 150 lives including 133 schoolchildren, Pakistan has adopted the National Action Plan against Terrorism to curb the menace in the country. The South Asian country is one of a few countries in the world, which has lost thousands lives including civilians and soldiers in its war against terrorism.
