LAHORE: Veteran actress Babra Sharif on Saturday withdrew the petition she had filed few days ago against a renter jeweler in Lahore, ARY News reported.

She took this step after Chief Justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar concluded the argument on this order that Babra Sharif should get the rent on time.

The two-member apex court bench headed by CJP Saqib Nisar heard the case at the Supreme Court’s Lahore Registry.

CJP Nisar said the jeweler was paying the actress full rent.

The actress had said in her plea that the jeweler tried to make the property controversial and attempted to bring down its market value.

“Though, he is paying the rent, but he is making my property controversial. The jeweler has closed the shop which is spoiling value of the place,” Babra said.

Chief Justice Nisar said, “The owner should be concerned with the rent. This does not concern you whether the shop is open or close.”

The top court had on January 6 issued a notice to a jeweler on the petition filed by the TV actress seeking reclamation of her encroached property.

Sharif had said in her petition that she approached the court after the man refused to pay rent of the property owned by the actress. The SC bench ordered the jeweler to pay all outstanding rent.
