Bahria Town striving to bring deaf, dumb children to normal life

According to details, Bahria Town Hospital Lahore is carrying out cochlear implant surgeries of the children, who are unable to listen or speak.

The Bahria Town administration is striving to provide hearing and speaking powers to these children, without charging a single penny.

Our correspondent Rabia Noor reported that the operation of a single child costs up to Rs 20 lac, while the Bahria Town Hospital has so far operated 126 such children, whereas it has planned to operate another 56 by November 18.

She told that these children start listening and speaking after 3-6 months of their cochlear implant surgery, while the hospital also arranges for their speech therapy.
