ISLAMABAD: Baloch marchers who tread 2,000 kilometres from Quetta to Karachi in Pakistan's south and than to Islamabad, will submit a memorandum about their missing relatives in Balochistan at United Nation's office in Islamabad today, ARY News reports.
The road journey of the relatives of missing persons led by septuagenarian Mama Qadeer reached federal capital Islamabad at the end of their protest march yesterday.
The marchers are the relatives of people who went missing in southwestern Balochistan province of Pakistan.
The marchers, led by a retired bank official Mama Qadeer, will present a petition to UN officials in Islamabad and also expected to meet foreign diplomats to raise awareness about the missing persons issue in Balochistan.
The incidents of enforced disappearances in Balochistan were started in year 2002. Different quarters claiming contradictory figures of the missing persons in Balochistan.
Provincial home department has claimed that the tally of missing persons in the province has been around 150. Human rights groups and Baloch organizations claiming more than 1500 disappearances in Balochistan.
They alleged involvement of security agencies in enforced disappearances of Baloch people.
