Addressing a press conference in Quetta Chief Minister of Balochistan Dr. Abdul Malik said that the efforts have been underway to initiate work on the Reko Diq gold and copper project in the province will start soon.

Balochistan Chief Minister announced to serve a legal notice to television anchor Dr. Shahid Masood over allegations levelled against him.

Dr. Malik said that the agreement with Tethyan Copper Company has been cancelled and the company will not be offered the project again.

The Balochistan government on Nov. 16, 2011, refused Tethyan’s application to mine at Reko Diq, a rocky desert location in Pakistan’s southwestern province.
