Bangladesh should comply with 1974 pact: FO

ISLAMABAD: Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan has said that Bangladesh should forget about past and move on. It is hoped that Bangladeshi Government shall adopt a reconciliation policy in compliance with the 1974 pact – ARY News Pakistan.

During the weekly briefing, the Spokesperson of the Foreign Office (FO) of Pakistan, Tasneem Aslam said that the Pakistani Parliament is an autonomous body and the condemnation resolution against Abdul Qadri Mulla's hanging conveys the sentiment that Bangladesh should move on and forget about past issues.

Commenting on the media reports of United States (US) correlating aid to Pakistan with the NATO supply, he said that the US has not yet informed Pakistan about any such law, whereas Pakistan will not appreciate any such condition implied.

The FO Spokesperson clarified that Pakistan has rendered countless sacrifices and its intentions should not be regarded with any suspicions.

He further elaborated that no Pakistani was killed in an attack on a bus of pilgrims in Iraq.

Moreover, Tasneem told that Pak-India DGMOs will be meeting on December 24, adding that Pakistan had suggested to induct FO officials in the meeting too, however it was not accepted by the Indian authorities.

Meanwhile, the Foreign Ministry of Pakistan has also directed the officials of its High Commission in Dhakka to restrict their movement, in realm of the ongoing protests there.
