BCCI offers to host series against Pakistan, says Shahryar

The PCB Chairman made the statement in a media talk on Saturday.

He said that BCCI President Shashank Manohar made the proposal during a telephonic conversation on Friday.

Shahryar Khan stated that green shirts face security problems in the neighbouring country.

“Its not suitable to send the team in such a hostile atmosphere”, he added.

He also said that any Pakistani, who travels to India, are targeted by extremist elements in the neighboring country.

Khan added that the decision regarding the series will be taken after the Pakistani government’s permission and consultation with other members of the country’s governing board.

The cricket board’s chairman stressed that the series should be contested in the United Arab Emirates as per the agreement signed between the two boards.

It should be noted that Pakistan and India were scheduled to play a test series in December this year.

The sore cricketing ties between the two South Asian countries stooped to a new low when activists of Hindu extremist group Shiv Sena disrupted the meeting between the President of BCCI Shashank Manohar and his Pakistani counterpart Shahryar Khan.
