Blasphemy case: Mir Shakil, Shaista Lodhi declared proclaimed offenders

The district and sessions judge Abbotabad, Shahid Khan in his verdict regarding a petition filed by Abdur Rauf Advocate, said that Mir Shakil, Sahista Lodhi, Veena Malik and Asad Bashir Khattak were repeatedly asked to appear before the court pertaining to a case registered against them for committing blasphemy of Ahle Bait (RA), however none of them appeared in person.

The court declared all of the accused as proclaimed offenders over their repeated absence at the hearings.

Moreover, the district and sessions judge ordered the concerned authorities to confiscate the property of all the accused.

Earlier, Abdur Rauf Advocate had filed a petition in the court seeking a ban on Geo Tv morning show and relative action against the responsible elements, for committing the blasphemy of Ahle Bait (RA) during the program.
