KARACHI: The bodies of two more members of a family that drowned at Gadani beach while picnicking were recovered on Saturday morning, according to rescue sources.
A day earlier, at least six members of a family were swept away by strong waves at Gadani beach.
The people who drowned at the famous beach hailed from Lyari’s Kachhi Para neighbourhood.
The bodies of four women who died of drowning while picnicking at the beach were retrieved a day earlier, while search to find the rest had to be halted after the sun went down and darkness fell.
As search operation resumed on Saturday morning, rescue teams recovered the bodies of two minors.
Lately, two youngsters died of drowning at Hawke’s Bay beach. A family had gone to the beach for a picnic on the second day of Eid.
The picnic turned into a tragedy after two youth of the family were carried away by strong currents.
Rescue officials reached the site of the incident and launched search for the two drowning youngsters.
An Edhi spokesman said that the two youth drowned while swimming at the sunset point.
