Book and film “I am not Malala” launched in Lahore

LAHORE: The book and film launching ceremony of “I am Not Malala, I am a Muslim, I am Pakistani” book was held today at Lahore Press Club.

Author of the book, President All Pakistan Private Schools Federation (AAPSF) Mirza Kashif Ali said the book was a rebuttal of the controversial book, “I am Malala”.

The controversial book is banned in private schools across Pakistan.

According to APPSF, the book, co-authored by Malala and Christina Lamb, contains offensive text regarding Islam, Pakistan’s ideology and Pakistan Army, thus cannot be added in the curriculum. APPSF comprises of a total of 173,000 private schools.

“The ban on “I am Malala” will remain intact and the federation will not allow inclusion of this book in libraries of private schools and other curricular activities,” the APPSF president said while talking to media.

“I am Malala” basically describes Malala Yousufzai’s life under the Taliban’s brutal rule in the Swat valley and hints at her desire to become Pakistani prime minister.

Kashif Ali said Malala was coward who fled from her homeland, while, Aitzaz Hassan and students of Army Public School are the best example of bravery.

“I am Not Malala” is voice of all the patriotic Pakistanis and Muslims, he added.
