The ECP’s Additional Secretary Sher Afghan said by-elections would be held if parliamentarians from any party tender their resignations. If assembly completes its term, then elections would be conducted in 60 days, it added.
He told that thumb-impression verification could not be held for some technical reasons. He said government could not issue any directions to election commission or election tribunal regarding electoral frauds.
“We will try to use similar ink for vote-casting in the next general elections,” said the ECP official.
