Cabinet approves strategy paper for upcoming budget

A meeting of the cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif approved the strategy paper.
Federal Secretary Finance Dr Waqar Masood gave a presentation on the next fiscal year’s federal budget to the cabinet.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif appreciated the fact that key economic indicators of the national economy have improved during last two years.
He said the upcoming budget should focus on providing maximum relief to the people so that they can also reap the benefits of stablization in national economy.
He directed the Ministry of Commerce to gear up efforts to increase country’s exports.
The federal budget of Pakistan is expected to be presented in the National Assembly on June 5.
