The police have arrested six domestic servants of Jamshed Cheema, including cook Mohammad Iqbal and driver Waqar for further investigation into the case.

During the probe, the servant named Ramzan told police that he heard a conversation of cook, two drivers, and a guard in which they were talking about giving “poison” to SAPM Cheema’s sons.

Police have extended the scope of investigation after the statement of a servant.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Food Security and Agriculture Jamshed Cheema’s two sons had been admitted to a Lahore hospital on Friday night after allegedly being poisoned by unknown persons.

Both sons, Ahil,9, and Arish, 8, are stated to be out of danger now.

According to an FIR lodged on the complaint of Cheema’s wife Musarrat Cheema at Mustafa Town police station, she suspected that both her sons were poisoned.

McAfee’s lawyer, Javier Villalba, said the anti-virus software pioneer died by hanging as his nine months in prison brought him to despair.

During a court hearing last month, McAfee, 75, said that given his age, he would spend the rest of his life in jail if convicted in the United States. “I am hoping that the Spanish court will see the injustice of this,” he said, adding “the United States wants to use me as an example.”

McAfee had lived for years on the run from US authorities, some of that time aboard a megayacht. He was indicted in Tennessee on tax evasion charges and was charged in a cryptocurrency fraud case in New York.

The colourful tech founder was detained on Oct. 3 at the Barcelona airport as he was about to board a flight to Istanbul with a British passport, a Spanish police source said at the time.

McAfee worked for NASA, Xerox and Lockheed Martin before launching the world’s first commercial anti-virus in 1987. He sold his software company to Intel (INTC.O) in 2011 and no longer had any involvement in the business. The program still carries his name and has 500 million users worldwide.

Spain’s high court said on Wednesday it agreed to extradite McAfee to the United States. The regional justice department confirmed that a US man aged 75 awaiting extradition was found dead in his cell on Wednesday. Prison authorities were investigating the cause of death.

McAfee still had opportunities to appeal his conviction but could not stand more time in jail, Villalba said.

McAfee said in 2019 that he had not paid US income taxes for eight years for ideological reasons. That year, he left the United States to avoid trial, largely living on a megayacht with his wife, four large dogs, two security guards and seven staff.

He offered to help Cuba avoid a US trade embargo using cryptocurrency and sought to run for U.S. president for the Libertarian Party.

McAfee, who said in 2018 that he had fathered at least 47 children, lived in Belize for several years. He fled after police sought him for questioning in the 2012 murder of a neighbour. They ultimately said he was not a suspect.

He met his wife, Janice McAfee, when she solicited him as a prostitute while he was on the run, he said.

Janice McAfee said in a post on Twitter on Sunday, “Now the US authorities are determined to have John die in prison to make an example of him for speaking out against the corruption within their government agencies… There is no hope of him ever having a fair trial in America.”

McAfee was a prolific user of Twitter, where he had 1 million followers, and other social media.

He posted a profanity-laced video on YouTube in 2013 that mocked the difficulty of removing the software that bore his name from computers.

A number of cryptocurrency backers around the world on Wednesday posted tweets of condolence. In his last public tweet on June 18, McAfee wrote: “All power corrupts. Take care which powers you allow a democracy to wield.”

As per details, the crash took place near Winder, Hub, as a result, two women passenger were killed and 10 other sustained injuries.

The injured and bodies were moved to a nearby hospital, while the cause of the accident remained unknown according to the initial reports.

In a separate road crash on April 21, at least 12 people lost their lives and 20 others got injured in Khairpur.

The incident took place at Khairpur’s Old National Highway, where a passenger bus collided with a van carrying passengers.

As a result of the horrible crash, at least 12 people lost their lives on the spot, while 20 others sustained injures. Getting the information, the rescue teams had reached the spot and currently moving the bodies and injured to the Civil Hospital.

Following the incident, emergency was declared at Khairpur Civil Hospital.

The excavated potato patch on the ancestral lands of the Katzie tribe in British Columbia is “the first evidence” of gardening by local hunter-gatherers of the era, according to a study published in the journal Science Advances’ December issue.

Archeologists led by Tanja Hoffmann and Simon Fraser University concluded that the inhabitants of the Pacific Northwest had engineered the wetland to amplify production of the wild food plant.

They installed a rock pavement that “formed a boundary for the cultivation” of the potatoes, which were found in growing position.

Also discovered at the site was close to 150 fire-hardened wood tool fragments, believed to have been the tips of “digging sticks.”

Typically harvested from October to February, wapato was an important dietary source of starch through the winter months.

The archaeological excavation recovered 3,768 wapato tubers, also called Indian potatoes.

“The remains were dark brown to black in color, and although only the exterior shell or skin survived on many, some also had the starchy material inside,” said the study.

Though their method is a little different than shown in the 2015 Bollywood flick “Dolly Ki Doli“. The gang’s main mantra is the same “Marry, Run and Repeat”.

Their Modus Operandi 

The gang looks for customers with wealthy backgrounds who wish to marry and and then arrange their marriages with their gang members. After the marriage, the girl had to flee her spouse’s house with money, gold and all the other belongings she can carry on her way back to other gang members.

The gang includes two permanent members Ruby and Saima, a temporary bride and a broker who makes deals with the grooms or customers.

How they were busted

Trapped in their own net,  a woman whose daughter was a part of the gang, contacted ARY News’ Sar-e-Aam’ team and sought recovery of her daughter Aisha, who, the mother claimed was kidnapped by a landlord in Kamalia city and the man is demanding Rs0.2million ransom for her release.

The ARY News team raided a house in Kamalia and found the girl tied to her bed.

The girl, after the recovery, maintained that she was intoxicated and then sold to the landlord by two women from Islamabad. “I tried to run away but this landlord’s men took hold of me, brought me back and kept me here,” the girl claimed.

The Sar-e-Aam team also took hold of the broker’s aide.

On leads provided by the broker’s aide, the team, aided by police, raided a house in Islamabad and arrested one of the permanent members of the gang, Saima.

Saima’s confession

Saima did not take much time to confess her crime before the police but negated Aisha’s story (that she was sold without her knowledge or was intoxicated and brought to the landlord’s house).

Saima also helped police find Ruby, the gang leader, by calling her at a place but Ruby did not show up.

What actually happened with the bride Aisha

According to initial investigation, the bride Aisha was sold by the group to the landlord, of her own choice. According to plan, she took all the landlord’s money and belongings and tried to flee the place but the driver she hired for the purpose was actually landlord’s friend.

The co-incident saved the landlord’s money  but the landlord was not content and kept Aisha in that room, contacted her real mother and demanded money he paid for the marriage, in return of Aisha’s release.

Aisha’s mother, who probably knew of her fake marriage business, did not contact the police but contacted the ARY News team for her release, lest her daughter’s evil deeds be exposed.

The Sar-e-Aam team, however, investigated the matter and found the truth.

Aisha, Saima and the broker’s aide are currently in police custody and the law enforcement agency is currently looking for the leader Ruby and the broker.

What caused so many deaths?

Temperature in Karachi generally stays at around 28 to 30 centigrade during summer, however this time around the heatwave was so brutal that it claimed over 700 lives.

“The reason for the Karachi deaths in my understanding is the Ethramul Ramazan Ordinance which prevents anyone from drinking or offering water to anyone in public”, says Arif Hassan, a well-known architect and recepient of second hightest civilian award Hilal-e-Imtiaz, while speaking to Arynews.tv

More to the woes of citizens, electricity shortages have crippled the water supply system in Karachi, hampering the pumping of millions of gallons of water to consumers.

Temperatures remained at around 44.5 Celsius in Karachi on Tuesday but thunderstorms were forecast for the evening, Pakistan’s Meteorological Office said.

When contacted, policy officer CCAP (World Wide Fund for Nature-Pakistan) Farrukh Zaman, told Arynews.tv that it’s likely that the recent episode of heatwave is linked to climate change and that such events will increase in frequency and intensity as global temperatures rise.

He informed that the recent report of Inter-government Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) AR5, an extensive scientific work carried out by world’s scientists, also corroborates that due to rising temperatures heatwaves in South Asia have increased by the mid of 20th century. Zaman underlined that this trend will likely to continue and heat related mortality will increase.

The provincial government meanwhile announced a public holiday to encourage residents to stay inside, an official said. Many of the victims have been labourers who toil outdoors.

How to beat the heatwave?

Plenty of liquids should be taken in order to stay away from heat related illnesses. Consuming liquids from time to time will help the person maintain his water level in the body. However, consuming extremely cold water will pave the way for stomach cramps.

The amount of physical activity should be reduced and maximum rest should be taken in intense summers. Physical exercises should be scheduled for cooler part of the day if it is unavoidable.

Light meals should be taken on regular basis and lightweight clothing should be donned during excessive summers. If a person falls victim to heat exhaustion, clothes such as socks and shoes should be removed at once.

You can ensure that your body does not suffocate in the warm weather by not wearing excess, warm clothing which is sure to cause suppression, discomfort and suffocation so that your body can stay relaxed and blood circulation is not hindered.

Showers and baths should be taken in order to beat the heat. Generously pour water over your scalp, the nape of the neck and behind the ears which will induce a lasting, internal cooling effect on the human body.

Wet and cool pieces of cloth along with ice should be applied on body parts such as head, face, neck, armpits and groin region. If a person falls unconscious due to heat then spray his face with water in order for him to regain consciousness.
