KARACHI: A teenager was killed and around 13 people were injured in a cracker bomb attack on an Imambargah in FC Area, Liaquatabad, of Karachi, ARY News reported.

Sources say a Majlis (religious gathering) was underway in the place of worship when two unknown assailants riding a motorcycle hurled the cracker bomb on the Imambargah in Liaquatabad No 4 area.

One teenager was killed while 13 others were injured as a result of the blast.

The dead and the injured were immediately shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities and medical treatment respectively.

Hospital sources said two of the injured are in critical condition, hence more deaths are feared, while majority of the injured are women.

“Two men on a motorbike hurled an improvised explosive device at an Imambargah (Shia mosque) in Liaqat Abad neighbourhood of Karachi and drove away,” Karachi Police Chief Mushtaq Mehar told AFP.
