ISLAMABAD: Police on Wednesday submitted an investigation report in child maid torture case in Supreme Court, ARY News reported.
DIG Islamabad Police while submitting the investigation report in the court sought one more week from the bench adding that the police waiting for the compilation of a final medico-legal report.
A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice of Supreme Court Mr. Justice Saquib Nisar, hearing the case.
The Chief Justice ordered the police to submit the chargesheet after getting the final report. The Justice also questioned about granting bail to accused Maheen Zafar.
In his remarks the CJP said the bail and the agreement are suspected. Azam, father of Tayyaba has said that he is illiterate and he don’t know the nature of the papers on which his thumb prints were taken.
Chief Justice asked whether the accused has been granted bail over the pre-bail agreement. The counsel of accused Maheen Zafar said that the accused has been granted bail by the trial court as the offence has been bailable. It has nothing to do with the agreement.
The bench adjourned hearing of the case till January 15.
The pictures of the 10-year old housemaid Tayyaba went viral on social media with internet users claiming that the maid works at additional session judge Khurram Ali Khan’s house, was severely tortured by the family of the judge.
Tayyaba, after being recovered by the law enforcement agencies, claimed that she fell from stairs but in the statement recorded for the First Information Report (FIR), the girl stated that she was tortured by the judge’s family.
The apex judge had taken suo motu notice of the case of alleged torture on the 10-year old and constituted a bench for hearing of the case.
