Chris Crains likely to be appointed as fielding coach

LAHORE: A former New Zealand’s all-rounder Chris Crains has met interim chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Saturday, ARY News reported.



Sources revealed that Chris Crains has became one of the strong candidate for the position of coach of national cricket team.



Kiwi’s all-rounder reached Lahore on a one-day visit and had a two-hour long meeting with Chairman PCB, in which talks regarding head coach, fielding coach and coaching for National Cricket Academy was came under discussion, sources revealed.



Earlier, Najam Sethi has announced to change the current head coach Dav Whatmore and fielding coach Julian Fountain.



According to sources, Chris Crains is most likely to be appointed for the role of fielding coach.



Cairns has finished his Test career with a batting average of 33.53 and a bowling average of 29.40 while ODI career with average of 29.46 and 32.80.
