ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Tassaduq Hussain Jillani has demoted the Secretary of former CJP Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry over the media controversy of the full court reference, ARY News reports on Friday.
Media officials, journalists and television channels had widely protested against the distribution of the footage of the full-court reference to a specific television channel on which the CJP had taken a suo moto notice.
Former Secretary Chaudhry Abdul Majeed, on the occasion, had given a statement on the media that a private camera man was hired for the coverage of the ceremony.
He has been demoted to the post of Deputy Director Human Rights Cell.
Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry had promoted Chaudhry Abdul Majeed from Protocol Officer to Secretary.
