LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Wednesday said that Samsam Ali Bukhari was an experienced parliamentarian who will prove his appointment as the provincial information minister, ARY News reported.
CM Buzdar in his latest statement said the provincial government hoped that the newly-appointed information minister Samsam Ali Bukhari will perform his duties with responsibility and in accordance with the party policy.
He congratulated Bukhari over assuming charge as Punjab information minister.

Earlier in the day, Samsam Ali Bukhari took oath as new Punjab’s Information Minister in a prestigious ceremony organised at the Governor House. Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar administered the oath to Bukhari.
The oath-taking ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, government ministers and other higher officials.
Bukhari, who the served as minister of state during the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) government, joined PTI in 2015. He won the provincial assembly seat PP-201 from Sahiwal in 2018 general elections.

He has replaced Fayyazul Hassan Chohan who was removed as Punjab information minister over his derogatory statement against the Hindu community.
Chohan’s derogatory statement against the Hindus irked PM Khan who directed the provincial authorities to take strict action against the former information minister. He said that such statements will not be tolerated anymore which hurt sentiments of believers of any religion.
