Four terror suspects killed in encounter with Counter Terrorism Department in Jahanian

KHANEWAL: Four alleged terrorists were shot dead in an encounter with Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Jahanian area of Punjab’s Khanewal district in the wee hours of Monday, ARY News reported.

Acting on a tip-off, the CTD personnel carried out a raid at a house in the area where reportedly eight terrorists of a banned militant outfit had taken refuge.

Sensing the arrival of CTD personnel, the terrorists resorted to firing at them and in retaliatory firing four attackers were killed while other four managed to flee from the spot, taking advantage of darkness, CTD officials said.

The terrorists during the encounter, also lobbed hand grenades at CTD personnel.

Two rifles, a hand grenade, a pistol, and 10-kg of explosive material were also seized during the raid from the hideout of the slain terrorists.

Two of the dead terror suspects have been identified as Abdur Rehman and Usman Basra, while identification of other two slain terrorists yet to be established.
