ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday restored Chairman PEMRA, ARY News reported on Monday.
Chairman of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA), Chaudhry Abdur Rasheed was relieved from the top office by a government order on Sunday.
Earlier, the IHC had struck down a government decision of the termintion of the services of the chairman National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).
The dismissal of PEMRA chairman Chaudhry Rasheed came upon the advice by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, which was approved by President Mamnoon Hussain.
Justice Riaz Ahmed of Islamabad High Court in his decision on the petition filed by PEMRA chief Chaudhry Abdur Rasheed, observed that the services of an officer could not be terminated without describing the cause of the decision.
