ISLAMABAD: An accountability court summoned former president of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari in Polo Ground reference on December 23, ARY News reported on Monday.
The counsel of the former president, Farooq H Naek told the court that his client could not appear before the court due to security reasons. The court however ordered that Asif Ali Zardari must appear before the court in the next hearing of Polo Ground reference on December 23.
Five references filed against Asif Ali Zardari by National Accountability Bureau were reopened as his presidential immunity ended after leaving the top office.
Most of the co-accused of former president have been acquitted in NAB references.
