KARACHI: An court on Wednesday handed a bizarre and unusual punishment to a culprit ordering him to hold a placard every day for one year, ARY News reported.

Basim and Islam had entered the protocol of then President General Pervez Musharraf in 2005, injuring a policeman and fracturing his leg.

Twelve years later, a city court handed the rather unusual punishment.

One suspect was acquitted while another was ordered to hold a placard every Friday for two hours outside the residence of Quaid-e-Azam.

The placard will be inscribed “Be careful. Negligence and reckless driving is fatal.”

He is also being fined 50,000 rupees. The court also ordered the Section Officer of the Traffic Police to monitor and regularly submit a report.
