LAHORE: Cricketer Mohammad Asif, his wife and two children were injured in a road accident in Lahore in early hours of Monday, ARY News reported.
The mishap occurred in Phase-I of Defence area, when the vehicle of Muhammad Asif narrowly escaped a collision with an oncoming speeding car and hit a footpath.
Resultantly, Asif, his wife and their two children were injured. However, they were stated to be out of danger. Asif said that his vehicle rammed into footpath in a bid to avoid a speeding car.
They injured were moved to a nearby hospital, but due to absence of a few medical officers, they were shortly moved to Services Hospital. Doctors said all four members of the family were out of danger.
Asif, along with fellow cricketers Salman Butt and Mohammad Amir, was banned for five years by the International Cricket Council after he was caught bowling a pre-planned no-ball during a sting operation conducted by a UK media house.
Off the three, only Aamir has been able to make a comeback to international cricket after serving his ban. The two others are still waiting for their return to the international cricket.
