Critics should notice number of lives saved due to dialogue, says Nisar

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that formal negotiations with Taliban will commence from next week, whilst he urged his critics to watch out how many lives have been saved by the dialogue – ARY News reports.

Talking to media after chairing the meeting of government and Taliban committees, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said that lodging a military offensive is not difficult, difficult is to bring peace.

He told that the process is moving forth positively and next week the second round of direct talks with Taliban leaders will formally commence, Taliban have demanded such a venue for talks that could be easily accessible for them.

The Interior Minister elaborated that 19 non-combatant prisoners have been freed by the Government and 13 more are decided to be set free soon.

Chaudhry Nisar said that the country is engulfed in many hardships, critics should notice the number of lives saved due to dialogue.

Moreover, he stated that one-sided efforts cannot be fruitful, Taliban should also opt for a positive attitude towards the state.
