CTD nabs four suspects, including two shooters in Karachi

KARACHI: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Tuesday claimed to have rounded up four suspects including two shooters, during raids in various parts of Karachi.

According to the CTD spokesperson, four suspects who were taken into custody were identified as Saeed Abrar Shah, Kamran, Zahid and Tauheed Ahmed.

“Tauheed Ahmed is associated with a religious party and Muhammad Zahid is linked with MQM-London group”, the CTD spokesperson said.

Tauheed has killed five people including two policemen while Muhammad Zahid was wanted to the LEAs in May 12 riots and other heinous crimes.

Abrar Shah was wanted in several cases of dacoities and street crimes, while Kamran was wanted in a case related to police encounter in 2013.

In a separate action, last week, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Karachi Police had arrested a terrorist of outlawed Jundullah terror group.

Arrested terrorist Mohammad Ishaq alias Gul was named in the red book, CTD chief Raja Umar Khattab told the media.

Police had recovered a suicide jacket and a hand grenade from his possession, the police officer said.

According to the officer, the alleged terrorist had entered in Balochistan from Afghanistan and then arrived in interior of Sindh.

He had come to Karachi for a major terrorist attack in the metropolis, the CTD in-charge officer claimed.
