Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) foiled a bid to smuggle Rs 130 million Pakistani and foreign currency to Dubai.

FIA Punjab officials in a raid at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport detained an accused Zeeshan Naseer Butt with large sums of Pakistani and foreign currency, equal to Pakistani 130 million rupees.

The accused said to be a resident of Shahdara in Lahore. He was carrying currency including Euros and British Pound by a flight to Dubai.

The investigators further inquiring into the matter to arrest other culprits involved in the currency smuggling bid.

Currency smuggling has been a major headache for the law enforcement agencies of Pakistan. The customs authorities in March last year arrested Ayyan Ali, a renowned model girl of Pakistan, at Islamabad airport with 500,000 US dollars in her possession.
