RAWALPINDI: An alleged operative of Daish terror network killed during a raid of counter terrorism department (CTD) in Rawalpindi, ARY News reported on Friday.
Another terror suspect escaped from the scene during the raid, a spokesman of CTD said.
The terrorists hurled hand grenades at the law enforcement personnel during the raid, officials said.
The slain terrorist has been identified as Ahsan Satti, while the man runaway from the spot was Imran Satti, the spokesman further said.
The counter terrorism personnel yesterday arrested eight terrorists in Lahore allegedly linked with Daish.
The arrested terrorists included Nabeel Abu Abdullah, who is said to be the commander of Daish network of Punjab.
The recent arrests of Daish operatives from various parts of Pakistan nullify the government officials claims that the group has failed to take ground in the country.
It is pertinent to mention here that all three major terrorist attacks in Balochistan this year including attacks on lawyers in Quetta Civil Hospital, another attack on police training centre and recent bombing in Shah Noorani shrine in Khuzdar, were all claimed by the Daish terror network.
