According to details, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar will apprise and brief Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on the security situation of the cricket team in India today. The ICC World Twenty20 Championship will be held from March 8 and Pakistan’s inclusion in the tournament has still not been confirmed as of yet.
Sources claimed that a guarantee of provision of security for the cricket team will be sought from the Indian government, only then will Pakistan announce the decision to send its players to India. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will be urged to secure a guarantee from the Indian government in this regard.
After the decision has been taken, PCB chief Shaharyar Khan will then be apprised regarding the situation. A couple of days ago, Himachal Pardesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh had refused to provide security to the Pakistani cricket team and urged administrative authorities to shift the venue to somewhere else other than the Himachal Pradesh cricket ground.
“We are not willing to provide security for the match. It’s just one match that we are bothered about because it involves Pakistan and our decision reflects the sentiments of the people of Himachal,” he had said.
