KARACHI: Inspector General Police Sindh A.D. Khawaja on Thursday clarified that the arms and ammunition from Azizabad were recovered from a proper ammo depot not a water tank as reported in the media, ARY News reported.
The Sindh police chief maintained that the ammo depot was a purpose built place with proper ventilation and in house stairs.
“The papers in which the arms were wrapped were newspapers from 2015 and we can make a safe deduction that the cache was hidden in the year 2015,” said Khawaja.
Police on Wednesday unearthed a large consignment of arms and explosives from a house in Azizabad area of the city. The police officers were rewarded while they earned lots of praise from all quarters.
Initially, some media channels reported that the ammunition was recovered from a water tank.
