DERA MURAD JAMALI: A terrorism bid foiled in Dera Murad Jamali and a bomb device planted at railway track near Notal area was defused, ARY News reported on Thursday.

A terrorism suspect who had planted the bomb device at railway track was killed in an exchange of fire with policemen.

The bomb disposal unit was called, which defused the device planted at the track, police officials said.

Recently 12 people, including two officials of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), were injured in a bomb explosion in Nasirabad district of Balochistan.

The explosive device was planted in a motorcycle parked at a bus stand on Quetta-Karachi National Highway, police said.

The explosive device went off when a vehicle of CTD reached there.

A police official said that the target of the blast was CTD officials who were travelling in an official vehicle.

The blast was so powerful that it was heard several kilometres away from its site. Many pushcarts of vegetable and a rickshaw caught fire after the blast.

Windowpanes of nearby buildings and shops were smashed due to the impact of the explosion.

In an incident on March 17 this year three coaches of a passenger train were derailed owing to a blast on a railway track near Shaheed Aziz Bullo check post in Dera Murad Jamali.

According to police, several passengers of the train also sustained injuries as a result of the incident.
