ISLAMABAD: Dr. Aftab Alam has been removed from his duties as Executive Director of the State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan (SLICP), ARY News reported.
So far, no specific reasons have been mentioned in the official notification regarding Dr. Aftab Alam’s removal. However, his records suggest that SLICP had to decide, due to his policy mismanagement and internal complaints.
Dr. Aftab Alam, following his removal, has been ordered to report to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) for relocation. His reassignment to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) may be part of a reforming effort to gain public trust and improve operational transparency. But, until a concrete reason is mentioned, his removal cannot be specified.
In a separate development, Dr. Muhammad Jameel Afaqi has gained a three-month extension in his role as Rector of the National School of Public Policy (NSPP), Lahore.
The extension has been effective since September 2, 2025. Dr. Jameel continues to serve concurrently as Dean of the Pakistan Administrative Staff College, contributing to the training and development of senior civil servants. His role as Dean of the Pakistan Administrative Staff College further fosters his profile as a reform-oriented academic leader.
The extension of Dr. Jameel as Rector of the National School of Public Policy (NSPP) seems to be a strategic move to maintain continuity in leadership.
These administrative changes reflect ongoing efforts to streamline leadership roles within key public institutions.
