ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Law Dr Farogh Naseem on Friday said a draft of the Whistleblower Protection and Vigilance Commission bill will soon be presented in the parliament for exposing corruption.
“The law will (specially) include protections for whistle-blowers. All parties should warm-heartedly accept this law,” the minister said while addressing a press conference in Islamabad.
He said the persons who gave information about corruption would be given 20 percent reward of the recovered amount.

Dr Farogh Naseem said a commission would be set up comprising persons of moral integrity from public or private sector who will assess the complaints and refer them to investigation agencies including the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and other anti-corruption establishments.
He said the commission would have wide ranging powers to check corruption.
The federal minister said the draft law was part of the government’s drive to expose and root out corruption from the society.
To a query, he said the commission would work impartially and on non-partisan basis.
Barrister Farogh said work was underway on the law as they were receiving different suggestions from experts which could be included in the draft.
“There’s a pressing need to stop graft activities. Politics should not be done on legislation against corruption. Masses should support the government’s anti-corruption drive,” he said.
