Police have detained Asmat Mehmood, pilot of Shaheen Airlines, after Civil Aviation Report accused him of being under the influence of alcohol while flying the jet.
He was arrested from Khayaban-e-RAhat in Defence neighbourhood of Karachi.
CCPO Lahore has said pilot had been arrested in Karachi, adding he will be moved to Lahore in next 24 hours.
According to CAA probe, the blood sample of the pilot was also taken and it emerged that the pilot was under the influence of alcohol.
Following this report, the director general of Civil Aviations Authority had ordered medical test of all cabin crews and airline staff.
The Karachi-Lahore flight NL-142 was carrying over 250 passengers when it made an emergency landing at Allama Iqbal International Airport on November 3, resulting injuries to several passengers.
