Earthquake tremors felt in Punjab, northern areas

According to US Geological Survey, the intensity of quake was recorded 5.0 magnitude and its epicenter is 32kms city off Jarm in northern Afghanistan. It’s depth was 219 kilometres.

Eye witnesses said the duration of tremors was around 50 to 55 seconds.

The tremors were felt Swat, Peshawar, Kohat, Kalabagh, Islamabad, Chitral, Charsadda, Abottabad, Swabi, Rawalpindi, Mohmand Agency, Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala and Shangla.

People rushed out of their homes in panic and started reciting ‘Kalma Tayyaba’ to prevent any natural disaster.

On October 26, a 7.5 magnitude quake ripped across Pakistan and Afghanistan, killing more than 390 people in total. In Pakistan, at least 276 people had perished in the calamity.

Pakistan had confirmed death toll at 272, with 2,227 people injured and nearly 25,000 homes damaged, mostly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where temperatures were already plunging below zero at night.
