Efforts being made to 'eliminate MQM', says Sattar

In his address with the National Assembly, Farooq Sattar said that MQM will continue to cooperate with the military against the enemies of Pakistan and the constitution, however if the authorities adopted attitude like that of 1992, then it would be difficult to save the system.

He said that his party will pass this test too, yet they must be told whether Mohajirs are equal Pakistanis and if they are then why their patriotism needs to be assessed every time.

“If there are black sheep in MQM’s ranks, then the party should be informed about it and it will assist the law enforcement agencies,” he said.

Sattar, however, questioned that under which law Saulat Mirza’s statement is being recorded again, when the court had already ordered to send him to gallows.

He demanded for recording the confessional statements of those who killed MQM workers and officials too.

The MQM leader said that his party played an important role regarding the 21st Amendment and formation of military courts.

He said that it is his appeal to the prime minister, army chief, DG ISI, corps commander Karachi, DG Rangers to stop such treatment of MQM.

Earlier to this, MQM members strongly protested and chanted slogans after Sattar was not allowed to address the house, following which the speaker gave him a chance to speak to the assembly.
