OKARA/ FAISALABAD: Eight people including five children were killed on Wednesday in two separate of roof and wall collapse in the cities of Okara and Faisalabad in Punjab, ARY News reported.
Five people including a couple and two children were killed in Madinnah Colony in Renala Khurd near Okara. Area residents said that they had constructed another storey over their dilapidated roof, which collapsed after being unable to hold the pressure.
A separate incident occured in the Islamnagar area of Faisalabad, where a woman was distributing food to children on the occasion of Ashura, when suddenly a dilapidated wall collapsed due to a huge rush and commotion.
The wall fell on the children killing Muhammad Ahsan aged 3, Atta Samdani aged 4, and Danish aged 5 immediately on the spot. Another three children also injured of which one is said to be in critical condition.
