Eight year old killed in cracker attack

KARACHI: An eight year old girl was killed in a cracker attack at a house in the PECHS area on Friday, ARY News reports.

According to Police, the explosion occurred when unknown person threw a cracker at a house near Khalid Bin Waleed Road. Eight year old Uzma was killed whereas ten year old Amanullah was injured.

They further added that nobody apart from the watchman's family was in the house when the attack took place. The owners had bought the house several months ago but had not moved in.

Source reported that the house owner received a call demanding extortion on which the special investigation unit has started its probe. It is possible that the attack was carried out for extortion purposes.
